Pain-relieving Chinese Acupuncture in Minnesota

As addressed in earlier articles, the art of acupuncture need not be an all-or-nothing proposition. As with the Chinese, acupuncture in Minnesota is often a part of a multi-disciplinary approach to wellness. Patients of ours who experience moderate results with traditional Western medicine may find they multiply their results exponentially when they couple Western therapies with acupuncture in St. Paul or one of our four other offices. Talk to one of our practitioners about ideas for combining healing techniques for better results.

Painless Acupuncture: Pain Management Technique

Chronic painful conditions such as fibromyalgia, migraines, arthritis and other diseases can have a significant impact on the quality of life for any individual. So much so, that we've seen a steady rise in the number of patients of traditional Western medicine who also turn to Chinese acupuncture (in Minnesota, TCM Health Center has five locations to serve our clients). Not surprisingly, the practice is gaining in popularity and garnering more and more respect from the medical community, as scientists begin to unravel how this therapy works.

Through acupuncture, pain management points (also known as trigger points) in the body are stimulated according to the corresponding area of the body where the patient feels discomfort. For example, in the treatment of headaches, the acupuncturist would place needles at trigger points in the wrist, knee and thumb. For knee pain, he or she would stimulate the trigger points located in the face, arm and toe. Though little understood by most Westerners, this placement makes perfect sense to a skilled practitioner.
